The British Forces Foundation

Jim Davidson OBE launched The British Forces Foundation on Thursday May 6 1999 The aims of the BFF are as follows:

To promote the Armed Forces through charitable means by supporting the well being and esprit de corps of all serving personnel through quality entertainment.

The British Forces Foundation is Jim's brainchild and its aim is to encourage top class performers from showbusiness to go around the world to entertain Servicemen and women in all three services on operations. He writes...

When young soldiers, sailors and airmen are a long way from home, doing their bit for their country, they like to know that people care back here. The appearance of a well known entertainer helps give them that reassurance - as well as cheering them up, I hope. I started entertaining British Forces in 1974 - from the age of 11!!! As I travel the world - whether it's entertaining the troops and encouraging as many top class performers as I can to join me, or supporting existing organisations involved in providing entertainment and recreational facilities to the Forces - I try to ensure that it is also fun and brings enjoyment to all those involved. Supporting the three Services and promoting and encouraging the morale and efficiency of the troops - to whom we all owe so much - is, I strongly believe, vitally important and there are many possible ways you can help us. For example, by attending our many events each year or by organising your own fund-raising activity on our behalf.
Of course, another way of helping is through a donation. Also, ask to be put on our mailing list and then we can keep you involved and informed on all our future events and activities. Whichever way you feel you would like to help us, your continued financial support really will make a difference. For this, the Foundation and myself thank you wholeheartedly.
